A Field Experiment for Tracing Lateral Subsurface Flow in a Post-Glacial Hummocky Arable Soil Landscape

چکیده
Lateral subsurface flow (LSF) is a phenomenon that widely occurring including the hummocky ground moraine landscape. Due to heterogeneous structure of subsurface, transport times pesticides and nutrients from agricultural areas adjacent water bodies are difficult assess. Here, LSF at Luvisol Regosol plots an experimental field were studied by applying potassium bromide along 10 m trench below plow pan in October 2019. The soil solution was collected suction cups 3 downslope April 2021, sampled down 1 depth. Almost no found except for 160 cm depth plot after 541 day period. After same time, observed 90 directly underneath application plot. A 3D reconstruction horizon boundaries revealed heterogeneities such as sand lenses might have been attributed pattern.

Water’s Way at Sleepers River watershed – revisiting flow generation in a post-glacial landscape, Vermont USA
The Sleepers River Research Watershed (SRRW) in Vermont, USA, has been the site of active hydrologic research since 1959 and was the setting where Dunne and Black demonstrated the importance and controls of saturation-excess overland flow (SOF) on streamflow generation. Here, we review the early studies from the SRRW and show how they guided our conceptual approach to hydrologic research at the...

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...
Biochar Decelerates Soil Organic Nitrogen Cycling but Stimulates Soil Nitrification in a Temperate Arable Field Trial
Biochar production and subsequent soil incorporation could provide carbon farming solutions to global climate change and escalating food demand. There is evidence that biochar amendment causes fundamental changes in soil nutrient cycles, often resulting in marked increases in crop production, particularly in acidic and in infertile soils with low soil organic matter contents, although comparabl...
متن کاملInfluence of lateral subsurface flow and connectivity on soil water storage in land surface modeling
Lateral surface/subsurface flow and their connectivity play a significant role in redistributing soil water, which has a direct effect on biological, chemical, and geomorphological processes in the root zone (~1m). However, most of the land surface models neglect the horizontal exchanges of water at the grid or subgrid scales, focusing only on the vertical exchanges of water as one-dimensional ...
